தமிழகத்தில் இருக்கும் பிரிவினை வெறியர்களையும் விடுதலைப் புலிகளின் பணத்தில் அரசியல் நடத்துபவர்களையும் இத்தொடர் உலுப்பி விட்டிருக்கிறது. படுகொலைகள் செய்தே உலகத்தின் கவனத்தை ஈர்த்த விடுதலைப் புலிகள் ஆதாரவாளர்களுக்கு தொடர் பிடிக்காததில் எந்த வியப்பும் இல்லை.
விடுதலைப்புலிகளைத் தவறுதலாகச் சித்தரித்திருக்கிறார்கள் என்று இங்கு இருக்கும் இந்திய விரோதிகள் அலறுகிறார்கள். புலிகள் இந்திய ராணுவத்தை பற்றிச் செய்த அவதூறுகள் கொஞ்ச நஞ்சம் இல்லை. இவர்கள் அவை அனைத்தும் உண்மை என்றே இன்று வரை எந்த வெட்கமும் இன்றிப் பரப்புரை செய்து வருகிறார்கள். இந்தியர்களால், இந்தியர்களுக்காக எடுக்கப்பட்ட தொடரைப் பார்த்தால் இவர்களுக்கு வலிக்கிறது. தொடரில் புலிகள் அவதூறு செய்யப்படவில்லை. அவர்கள் தரப்பு நியாயமும் தெளிவாக எடுத்துச் சொல்லப்படுகிறது.
பிராபகரன் உயிரோடு இருக்கிறார் என்று இன்று வரை இவர்களில் பலர் சொல்லிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள். உயிரோடு இருந்தால் எங்கே இருப்பார்? பாரீஸ் கிருஷ்ணபவனில் இட்லி சாப்பிட்டுக் கொண்டிருப்பாரா? இயக்கத்தை முற்றிலும் அழிய விடாமல் காப்பாற்ற எல்லா முயற்சிகளும் செய்து கொண்டிருப்பரா இல்லையா? அவருக்கு ‘தூங்கும் அறைகள்’ (sleeper cells) தேவையாக இருக்காதா? அப்படி இருக்கும் பட்சத்தில் அவை எங்கே இருக்க வாய்ப்புகள் இருக்கின்றன? இந்தியாவிற்கு எதிராக வேலை செய்து கொண்டிருக்கும் அயோக்கியர்களும் அடியாட்களும் துரோகிகளும் மிகவும் சுதந்திரமாகத் திரியும் தமிழ்நாட்டில்தானே அவை இருக்க அதிக வாய்ப்புகள் இருக்கின்றன? அவற்றில் சில உறக்கத்திலிருந்து விழித்துச் செயல் படுகின்றன என்று சித்தரிப்பதில் என்ன தவறு? இன்றும் ராஜிவ் காந்தி படுகொலையை நியாயப்படுத்தும் கயவர்கள் இருக்கிறார்களா இல்லையா? இந்தியப் பிரதமரை இவர்கள் மறுபடியும் கொலை செய்யத் தயங்க மாட்டார்கள் என்று சித்தரிப்பதில் என்ன தவறு? அவர்களுக்கு ஆதரவாக தமிழ்நாட்டில் சிலர் செயல்படத் தயாராக இருப்பார்கள் என்று சித்தரிப்பதில் என்ன தவறு?
இனி தொடருக்கு வருவோம்.
தொடர் விறுவிறுப்பாகச் செல்கிறது என்று பலர் சொல்லிவிட்டார்கள். உண்மைதான். பல இடங்களில் logical ஓட்டைகள் இருந்தாலும் மொத்தத்தில் ஒரு நம்பகத் தன்மையைத் தொடர் கொண்டு வந்துவிடுகிறது. நடித்தவர்கள் அனைவரும் கச்சிதமாக நடித்திருக்கிறார்கள். சமந்தா போன்ற திறமை மிக்க நடிகையை நாம் இதுவரை எவ்வாறு பயன்படுத்தியிருக்கிறோம் என்பதுதான் விவாதப் பொருளாக இருந்திருக்க வேண்டும். தொடரில் தமிழகமும் சரியாகத்தான் காட்டப்பட்டிருக்கிறது என்று நான் நினைக்கிறேன். ஆனால் புலிகளுக்கு ஆதரவாக ஒரு முழுக் கிராமமும் சேர்ந்து செயல்படுகிறது என்பது மிகை. இன்றையத் தமிழக மக்கள் என்றுமே உண்மைநிலை என்ன என்பதை அறிந்து செயல்படுபவர்கள். ஈழப் போராளிகள் தமிழ்நாட்டு மக்களைத் தேவைப் பட்டால் பயன்படுத்துவார்கள், தேவையில்லாவிட்டால் உதறித் தள்ளிவிடுவார்கள் என்பதை தமிழ்மக்கள் அறிந்தே இருந்திருக்கிறார்கள். இங்கு இருக்கும் சில இந்திய விரோதிகளையும் புலிகளுக்கு கூலிக்கு அடியாட்களாகச் செயல்படுபவர்களைத் தவிர தமிழ்மக்கள் விடுதலைப் புலிகளை ஆதரிக்கவில்லை என்பதே உண்மை.

John Adams is a not an easy series to watch. You have to have at least a rudimentary knowledge of the US history to appreciate it. If you do, the series is endlessly captivating. The dialogues are splendid and they bring out the almost insurmountable difficulties the founding fathers of the US faced in the late Eighteenth and the Early Nineteenth Centuries in keeping the nation as one.
John Adams was one of the founding fathers. Although his contemporaries regarded John Adams as one of the most pivotal figures of the revolutionary era of the US, his reputation took a considerable beating in the 19th century. It has however been soaring heavenwards ever since the modern edition of his correspondence appeared a few decades ago, which prompted a rediscovery of his unimpeachable honesty, his mature political thought, and his astounding perspective on American foreign policy.
The series covers his life brilliantly. It starts with the famous trial of the British officers and soldiers who are being accused of massacring innocent civilians of Boston. Largely owing to Adams’s amazing defence, they are acquitted by the Jury. Slowly, he veers around to the conclusion that independence from Britain is the only answer. He goes to France to be the second in command to Benjamin Franklin, but being unused to diplomatic niceties, he quickly falls out with him and is relegated to a diplomatic post in Netherlands. But it is he who drafts the Treaty of Paris which heralds the secession of hostilities between Britain and the American Colonies and seals the recognition of Britain of their independence. He later becomes the ambassador of the US to Great Britain. On return to the US, He serves as the Vice President to George Washington for two terms and on his retirement becomes the second President of the US. He follows a very careful policy of ‘no war’ with either Britain or France (when they are fighting with each other) much to the chagrin of the pro-French Thomas Jefferson. Throughout his life, his advisor is his perceptive wife. It is she who steers him through troublesome times with unshakable support. The series also covers his personal life and the tragedies he meets in his long life of 90 years.
I will recommend this series to the ஒன்றியம் comedians of the DMK and other sundry separatists of Tamil Nadu. There is an uncanny resemblance between the founding fathers of the US and ours. Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington and Alexander Hamilton were all fiercely independent and constantly fought among themselves. Still, when the interest of the nation came to the fore, they stood as one. The same was the case with India. Remember, the US was in danger of being torn asunder during the days of the Civil War, which happened after 85 years of independence. Several attempts were to settle the disputes between the North and the South amicably without shedding blood but they all miserably failed. Eventually the Unionists won a resounding victory but the loss of lives was the most horrendous in the history of the US. India too is at the crossroads almost 75 years after independence. Some ஒன்றியம் comedians and a few other assorted idiots think they can seek separation without bloodshed. They live in a jejune world. Every Indian has an equal stake in every square inch of his country. No sane Indian will allow a set of lunatics and traitors to claim separation and attain it without a fight. The Central Government in India is much more powerful than the Unionists were in the 19th century and it will pulverize the separatists in no time.
Nations are not built by tinpot Nazis or half-baked rabble rousers or ஒன்றியம் comedians. Nations are built by statesmen who think long and hard before taking every step. History will always come to their rescue. John Adams tells us succinctly how history does its rescue act.
